About Us
I think we are chiaroscuro — an endless battle of light against darkness. But unlike the disgusting political rhetoric that keeps selling us the idea of "us versus them," I believe the real battle is us versus ourselves. I mean the self I aspire to become and the shadow that constantly tries to discourage me.
Because yes, as I write this, there's a voice inside me insisting on saying: "Okay, idiot, you know you're talking to yourself and no one will ever read this blog. People will never watch your videos, and most of all, humanity will never become any better than this. So what exactly do you think you're trying to accomplish?"
The devil lives in this inner dichotomy. He rises from the shadows of the unconscious to discourage and dissuade each of us from pursuing our purpose. And this is where the beauty of free will comes in: in choosing not to listen, and in continuing to do what you want to do anyway.
"That doesn't make any money." And you keep going. "People are going to call you ridiculous." And you keep going. "Nobody cares about that anymore." And you keep going. "This repetition in the text is getting tiresome." And you tell him to go to hell — and you keep going.
I know what I feel, and I know I'm not some unique and special snowflake. So if I feel this way, I know there must be many others out there feeling the exact same thing right now. I know you want something real, something authentic. I know you feel like life has lost its spark, and you wish things could go back to having that warm, familiar feeling.
You want to feel the soul of things and experience genuine human connection. Remember when nights actually felt like nights, and Sundays had that unmistakable "Sunday feeling"? You want to feel the spirit of Christmas when it comes around, and you want to be able to hug people without caring about their color, gender, or political party. Because here's the secret truth about us: even though we are all unique in our countless versions of ourselves, in the end we're all different versions of the same person.
Most importantly, if you miss what you already know all of us miss, you can start becoming the very thing you wish the world still had. I missed reading a real and personal blog, so I started one. You're free, and I just wanted to remind you of that.
